Studio A

​Studio A is Hyde Street Studios’ flagship room, with incredible gear and recording capabilities. It houses one of the cleanest, warmest, and most sought-after recording consoles ever made. 

Studio A’s vintage Neve 8038  was brought over from England and specially modified to fit Hyde Street’s needs. Already a highly-regarded console (being favorably compared to Dave Grohl's famous "Sound City" Neve), Hyde Street’s 8038 underwent extensive maintenance and modifications in 2016 to make it one of the nicest sounding, most reliable vintage Neve’s in existence. The preamps, EQs, and bussing of this era Neve give music a rich and highly sought-after sound.

Originally built for Wally Heider recording in 1969, Studio A has wonderful acoustics, and features a main tracking room as well as two isolation rooms with tie lines between. Studio A is a popular option for recording a full band all at once in the same room, with options for recording to ProTools HD 12 or 2-inch tape on the Studer a820.  The 9ft Baldwin grand piano and Hammond B3 organ with Leslie Speaker add the finishing touches to this world-class room.
